Democracy was not invented by the Americans (after the Revolutionary War), nor by the French (after the French Revolution). According to the Encyclopedia Britannica<\/a>, it was developed by the ancient Greeks about 2500 years ago.<\/p> National Geographic<\/a> adds that democracy gives people a methodology for replacing their government \u201cthrough peaceful transfers of power rather than violent uprising or revolution.\u201d<\/p> So why is it associated with the Americans and the French?
